Welcome to our new home online.🤍 I wanted to start my first blog by introducing myself, our company, our goals, and the big ‘why’ of this entire rebrand. My name is Macy Moss, I am the Founder and Lead Travel Agent at Macy’s Travels LLC. Typing that out feels so surreal and knowing some of you will read this is even more of a pinch-me moment. Macy’s Travels started in 2018 after I had quit my full time job working as a receptionist for our family’s small business in Arkansas. I have always had a passion for creativity, entrepreneurship, marketing, and wanting something of my own. I have grown up traveling (even when we really didn’t have the money, my parents made it happen and it’s something I have never taken for granted.) My siblings and I have more memories of family trips than probably anything else in our childhood and they’re the best memories to have. All of that being said, both of my parents are also anal retentive and planners in their own aspects. 
My dad was the OCD type of having everything in order, organized and ready to go, my mom was the one who needed everything to be planned, itinerarized (is that a word?) so between the two of them, we never missed a beat on vacations, destinations, experiences, and mindful souvenirs. Clearly, this runs in the family so I realized I had a natural talent and love for planning trips with a specific budget, interest, or aesthetic in mind; starting with my own honeymoon. 
To back it up a bit, I wasn’t fulfilled at my previous job and was determined to find something that I could call my own, work as hard as I wanted, and make a living from it. I never dreamed of being a travel agent, nor did I know those still existed in 2018 haha. They do, and I did become one–spontaneously without knowing what I was doing or getting into! There are so many ups and downs to working in the travel industry, especially in the world we’re in right now but I absolutely love my career, my business, and the fulfillment it gives me. I love meeting new people (even when it’s virtually,) getting to know them on a personal level, and helping them plan a trip and a build memories that will last forever. I believe there are so many beautiful places, resorts, and experiences to be apart of in this world that I can’t imagine a more fun and challenging job to do everyday for you!
So, why the rebrand? Why a website now? Well, there are several reasons Macy’s Travels got a facelift in 2021😉
Promises: being passionate for what I do is what drives me to work hard and enjoy it; that’s the internal promise I give clients. Realizing I was taking on so many/too many projects to “do it all” hurt my passion which affects my promise and my brand. You can’t be afraid to run towards your niche!- Modernization: my goal since the get-go was to modernize travel agents. Typically, this is an outdated path that has a brick & mortar store, paper brochures, and car wraps. While there’s a market for that, this was not my intention. I found a love for researching, planning, presenting, and building relationships with people while making it seem like a custom experience that’s fun from the begining. This could only be done by streamlining the process, finding softwares and programs that allowed for it, and researching my butt off to figure it all out!
- Aesthetics: we live in a world of aestheticism; to a fault sometimes. But it’s also the little spark that can make us happy on a sad day; the perfect instagram feed, your favorite influencer’s newest story or youtube video, and, of course, your Pinterst boards. Macy’s Travels was due for an aesthetic upgrade to match our brand identity.Travel-Restful-Memorable-Cozy-Modern
- ☁️Realism: 2020 was no joke for anyone; 2021 has been a living nightmare for me personally. Life is short, really really short. It doesn’t matter if you live until you’re 25, 51, or 100, it doesn’t seem like long enough while you’re living it. Invest in things + people that make you happy, put your energy towards concepts that bring you joy, and say yes to ideas that may scare you but excite you in the same day. My brand is an extension of myself in every way and I finally feel confident in that.
