I could go on.. although I travel very similarly to my own clients and visit the same resorts, some elements of a trip mean more to me and my husband, family, etc. than yours and that’s part of why I LOVE my job. My most treasured trip I have ever been on was Greece. We visited Santorini and Mykonos traveling by ferry, and one night in Athens. This was a bucket list destination for me and after a tragic year and past few months, my husband and I decided to go somewhere far away, beautiful, and somewhere my dad had always mentioned going to.

Splitting our trip into two islands was perfect for us and a much needed blend of relaxation and adventure. The thrill of visiting a new place in the world is something you never get over really! Our trip started off a little rough with a 4 hour delay on the tarmac in Chicago. We eventually made it to London, missed our connecting flight to Santorini, flew into Athens, then caught a smaller plan into Santorini arriving on the island around 8PM. We had no luggage for two days but it made for some laughs and memories. My sweet husband went into town and bought me a ‘dress’ since we had no extra clothes and I will never get over the looks I received walking around on one of the most boujiee islands I’ve ever visited.😂

Our stay at Secrets Santorini Resort & Spa was one of the most amazing experiences we’ve ever had at a resort. The attentiveness, kindness, and attention to detail of all their guests was unmatched. We could have easily been upset and frustrated being in a foreign country during a pandemic, flying for almost 24hours, no luggage, and missing a day, but they made us feel at home and pampered from the minute we walked down the white concrete steps. By the way, Santorini looks exactly like the pictures you see online; it almost doesn’t feel real.

We booked a group yacht tour for one morning where our driver met and picked us up in town a few minutes from our resort (such a perfect location) and once we got to the port, someone wasn’t feeling great and our driver drove us all the way back to our resort and refunded our tour for the day. Seriously, the Greek culture and people are amazing. We couldn’t get over it!

After taking our ferry ride (such a cool experience by the way. Nothing like ferries in the US) we were picked up by our driver and a personal guide that took us to our home for the next 5 days, Myconian Utopia Relais & Chateux.

Mykonos was full of beautiful private beaches, amazing service, the chicest and most aesthetic resort I’ve ever been to, and views for days. We could sit outside of our room and just look at the ocean and architecture for hours. With a complimentary shuttle service from our collection of resort, we ventured into Mykonos’ town center almost every night for dinner, shopping, and exploring the culture. Fresh seafood, shops around every tiny white bricked road, and the best gyros you’ll ever eat. Trust me.🙌🏻

We concluded our Mykonos days with a day trip to Nammos Beach Club– specifically to people watch because we love to do it and Greece is a perfect place for it. Apparently, the royals frequent this beach club when visiting Mykonos and we don’t blame them. The water is crystal clear, mountains on both sides of you, waiters brushing sand off of your towels every fifteen minutes and making sure your cocktails or water never gets worn or low. MAGICAL.
